Jayden Daniels. Caleb Williams. Saquon Barkley. J.K. Dobbins. Dallas Goedert. Mike Evans. Jayden Reed. Jonathan Brooks. Rico Dowdle. Jadarian Price. That is one Sunday.

Here's what it did to your roster, exactly where your waiver money goes, and one apology we owe you.

STORY OF THE WEEK

New Orleans is Alvin Kamara's backfield again

Kamara didn't even play last week. He came back and immediately led the Saints in touches. Travis Etienne played nearly twice the snaps and lost every column that actually pays.

  Kamara Etienne

Snaps 20 37
Carries 9 8
Targets 6 2
Total opportunities 15 10

Fifteen opportunities on twenty snaps. That is an absurd rate — Kamara is on the field to touch the ball, and Etienne is on the field. Neither cracked eight points, and that's the real problem: they are going to cap each other all season.

Etienne — this is the bad version. You cannot start him with confidence while this split holds.

Kamara — not startable either. Twenty snaps is twenty snaps. He's a touchdown-dependent flex until that number moves.

OUT OF NOWHERE

Jonah Coleman took the goal line

J.K. Dobbins got stuffed at the goal line three times, then pulled up with a hamstring. Guess who took the goal-line carries after that. Coleman put up 15 points on limited touches and walked off the most valuable unrostered running back in football.

Verdict: this is what you were waiting for. If you took a flyer on him in your draft and cut him after Week 1, go get him back. He is the number one add of the week and it isn't close.

DON’T PANIC?

David Montgomery had a bad day, not a bad season

This is the floor, and you need to know it exists. When Houston goes down multiple scores they cannot afford long drives, and Woody Marks is the passing-down back. Monty isn't as good in that skill set. That's the whole story.

Nothing about the job changed. He still owns the goal line. He had three touchdowns two weeks ago off the same role. Negative game script is the only thing that beats him.

Ja'Marr Chase is your proof of concept. Everyone spent a week panicking, and he came back with nine targets, two touchdowns and 26.5 points. The Bengals do this every single year — forget him in Week 1, remember him in Week 2.

Verdict: start Montgomery every week. Just budget for the occasional single-digit game when Houston is chasing.

WE WERE WRONG

Yeah… we’re sorry about Marv

We told you to draft him. We were idiots number one and two. We have never seen anything like this and we do not understand it — but we don't have to understand it, because the fact of the matter is he does not score fantasy points.

One of us has him in the Flock League and it is actively hurting him. We are suffering alongside you.

Verdict: hold him, and bench him until he shows you something. If we actually thought he was done for the season, we'd be telling you to drop him — and we're not telling you that. There's no sell to make at this price and the talent hasn't gone anywhere. He just doesn't belong in your lineup until it shows up on the stat sheet.

WHO YOU’RE SWEATING THIS WEEK

One of the worst injury weeks we've had in a long time. Sorted by how much of it you actually have to deal with before Sunday.

Out, or close to it

Jayden Daniels QB · WAS

Elbow — dislocation, not a fracture, which is the only good news in the sentence. No timeline yet. Terry McLaurin takes the biggest hit; Stefon Diggs should be fine. The offensive line was already banged up enough to affect Daniels, so this drags on the whole unit. Don't go buying Commanders, and obviously don't touch Marcus Mariota.

Caleb Williams QB · CHI

Hamstring, late fourth quarter, and it looked like he popped it. Hamstrings run anywhere from two weeks to eight, and he won't be himself when he's back — ask anyone who rostered Lamar last year. With Tyson Bagent under center, expect Ben Johnson to go smashmouth. D'Andre Swift and Kyle Monangai both go up for the next month. Every Bears receiver goes down.

J.K. Dobbins RB · DEN

Hamstring, immediately after getting stuffed at the goal line three straight times. He pinky promised he wouldn't do this. He did it. RJ Harvey is also banged up, which is exactly why Jonah Coleman is the number one add of the week.

Dallas Goedert TE · PHI

Knee, never returned. This was always the Goedert risk — staying on the field has been the problem his whole career. We're not spending waiver money on Eli Stowers or Grant Calcaterra; both are too raw, and they're likely to block more than they catch. Expect those targets to land with Dontayvion Wicks and Makai Lemon instead.

Left the game — waiting on word

David Njoku TE · LAC

Carted off, and this is the tight end injury that actually matters. He’d already put the ball on the ground earlier in the game, so it was a rough afternoon before it turned into a bad one. Charlie Kolar went down in the same game, which clears out the room behind him entirely — and makes Oronde Gadsden a real streamer overnight.

Jadarian Price RB · SEA

Chest, did not return — right as he was starting to look good again. If he misses time, the guy to own is Emanuel Wilson, who put up 21 carries and 92 yards and took every goal-line touch once Price was out. Not George Holani.

Jonathan Brooks RB · CAR

Groin — the same one that cost him most of training camp, which is the part that worries us. Chuba Hubbard already had this backfield; now he absorbs Brooks's five-ish carries too. Hubbard's floor goes up again.

Rico Dowdle RB · PIT

Toe, and we don't think it's turf toe. Here's the buried storyline: he was starting drives ahead of Jaylen Warren before he got hurt. Nobody noticed because Pittsburgh was so bad. If someone in your league panics on the injury, buy him for pennies. If he's out, Warren is the obvious beneficiary.

Mike Evans WR · SF

Hip. We're told it isn't major, and they were blowing Miami out anyway, so sitting him was free. The concern isn't this week — it's that he's old and has missed real time each of the last two years. Get an insurance option behind him now, not the week he's ruled out.

Jayden Reed WR · GB

Stretchered off with movement in all extremities, and the early word is he's okay. Nasty to watch. He wasn't a factor for us anyway — this solidifies Christian Watson as a weekly starter and gives Matthew Golden more room, assuming the randoms don't start vulturing Green Bay targets again.

Demarcus Robinson WR · SF

Carted off. Between this and the Evans hip, San Francisco concentrates even harder into Kittle, Deebo and McCaffrey — which is only good news if you own one of the three.

Caleb Douglas WR · MIA

Left in a boot. You weren't starting him, but that upside shot we saw in Week 1 is on hold.

Scared you, then came back

Saquon Barkley RB · PHI

Stinger. He came back and says he's fine, and we hope that's right. But you saw a lot of Will Shipley and Tank Bigsby while he was off the field. Go get Bigsby anyway — he's rostered in 28% of Sleeper leagues and he's arguably the most valuable handcuff in football.

Aaron Jones Sr. RB · MIN

Left the game, came back, and immediately broke off another big run. Looks fine. We'll monitor it this week, but with Jordan Mason out until roughly Week 7, Jones is a must-start.

Still monitoring from last week

Zay Flowers WR · BAL — missed this week with the hamstring. We don't think it's long-term, which is exactly why we cooled all the way off Rashod Bateman.

Nico Collins WR · HOU — if he's out again, Dalton Schultz becomes one of C.J. Stroud's favorite targets overnight. Watch this one before you set a tight end.

WAIVER WIRE

Where the money goes

Unlike last week, there is a real one at the top. Spend like it.

Budget Player & why
25–50%

Priority add

Jonah Coleman RB · DEN

Number one priority, no debate. Next man up with Dobbins hurt and Harvey banged up, and he already took the goal-line work. Drop real money here.

20–30%

Denzel Boston WR · CLE

Seven targets, five catches, 95 yards and a touchdown, with the volume up on last week. He's outside, they take shots, and they're behind a lot. Don't expect 20 every week — do expect him to be rostered. 42% right now.

5–15%

Tank Bigsby RB · PHI

Saquon came back, so this is insurance rather than an emergency. But he's arguably the most valuable handcuff in fantasy football and he should be rostered. Prioritize him if you're thin at back.

5–15%

Dalton Schultz TE · HOU

Only if you need a tight end — but if Nico Collins is out, Schultz becomes one of C.J. Stroud's favorite targets overnight. One of our favorite streams this week.

5–10%

Emanuel Wilson RB · SEA

21 carries, 92 yards, and the goal-line work once Price went out. A totally respectable flyer if Price misses time — and he, not Holani, is the one to own.

5–10%

Adonai Mitchell WR · NYJ

A 12-target day in awful weather, 12 points. Detroit, Chicago and Cleveland are next. Efficient with what he gets, but the floor is on the ground and we don't trust that offense past Garrett Wilson and Breece Hall. Conservative here.

0–5%

Tre Tucker WR · LV

The Tre Tucker experience: big day, nothing burger, big day, nothing burger. Rashid Shaheed in a worse offense. Roster him if you like variance.

0–5%

Rashod Bateman WR · BAL

We talked ourselves down on this one. Only worth it as a one-week spot start, and even that assumes Zay Flowers stays out. Hamstrings linger, so it's not nothing — it's just close to nothing.

0–5%

Oronde Gadsden TE · LAC

David Njoku got carted off and Charlie Kolar is hurt too, which leaves Gadsden as the last healthy pass catcher in that tight end room. He's good at it. Genuinely intriguing if you're desperate at the position.

0–5%

Ted Hurst WR · TB

Last name on the list, and only barely. We don't trust this to stay consistent in that situation. Free pickup or nothing.
