Week 3 took De'Von Achane, Breece Hall, Justin Jefferson, Mike Evans, Travis Etienne and Jalen Coker out of games, most of them for good. Half the league is redoing a starting lineup this morning, and the other half is deciding how much of its budget to spend fixing it.

Here's what actually happened, who's hurt and what it does to your roster, and exactly where the money should go on waivers.

STORY OF THE WEEK

If you traded for Jeremiyah Love, you're a genius.

Einstein. Oppenheimer. You. The first-round back everybody panicked on took 21 carries against San Francisco in a game script that was not remotely run-friendly, then caught all five of his targets for 19 yards on top of it. Twenty-two points. If you held him through the dip at the start of the season, you were right. If you bought him last week, you were more than right.

21 carries. 5 targets, 5 catches. 22.0 points. Against the defense that was supposed to bury him.

THE ONE THAT STINGS

The Chargers backfield got a lot more even.

This is the split we were worried about on Friday. Keaton Mitchell wasn't just a change-of-pace body — he got his own package, and when Omarion Hampton didn't punch it in at the goal line, Mitchell came in and scored it.

Week 3 Hampton Mitchell
Snaps 29 26
Rushing attempts 15 8
Goal-line TD — 1
Fantasy points 5.6 13.5

Hampton: still a hold, still the lead back, but the passing-game role we wanted isn't materializing and that caps his weekly ceiling. Mitchell: nobody who started him this week was starting him on purpose, and nobody will next week either. A hold for upside, not an add.

OUT OF NOWHERE

Kenyon Sadiq is rostered in 34% of leagues.

Eight targets, seven catches, 105 yards and a touchdown at Detroit — 24 points, in a Jets offense that has been feeding pass-catchers all month. Maybe this is the coming-out party, maybe it's one good matchup. Either way, the tight end position is bad enough that a 34%-rostered guy who just hung 24 is worth a bid. Add him if he's out there.

RAPID FIRE RUN THROUGH

Here is everything else that moved a roster this week.

Brock Bowers TE · LV — first game back from the meniscus trim and the entire Raiders offense funneled through him: 13 targets, 10 catches, 116 yards, a touchdown, 27.5 points. We called him the Week 1 buy. He can win you a league from here.

Garrett Wilson WR · NYJ — 13, 16 and now 26 points to open the year, on 13 targets and 107 yards. He produces in a bad situation because he's one of the better receivers in the league. That's the whole analysis.

Michael Wilson WR · ARI — seventeen targets. Eleven catches, 89 yards, a touchdown, 26 points after scoring 13 combined across the first two weeks. Marvin Harrison Jr. was invisible again (40 yards, seven points), and at this point you'd rather have Wilson every day of the week. The Giants and Lions are next.

George Kittle TE · SF — two touchdowns, 82 yards, 26.5 points. He is still ranked around TE9 in a lot of places and he could sit out the rest of the year and finish there anyway. Top-four tight end rest of season, and if Mike Evans misses time he gets peppered.

Drake London WR · ATL — 195 yards without a touchdown and he still nearly cracked 30. Everyone told you to sell him. Michael Penix has always been the best thing that ever happened to Drake London, and Thursday looked exactly like the old version.

Matthew Golden WR · GB — 12 targets, 21 points and the first touchdown of his career. Christian Watson keeps producing too. Both Packers receivers are moving up our rest-of-season rankings.

Jaylen Warren RB · PIT — 56 snaps. Fifty-six. The rest of the backfield combined for a handful. 20.6 points without a touchdown against a defense that isn't soft against the run. As long as Rico Dowdle is out, he's a clear weekly starter.

Terry McLaurin WR · WAS — 20 points, nine targets, a touchdown in the first game with Marcus Mariota under center. Some of his best career games have come with Mariota throwing. Not dust after all.

Rashee Rice WR · KC — we said sell on Friday and he answered with nine targets, seven catches, 88 yards, 15 points, and more slot work than he's been getting. Fair play. The caveat: that was the best matchup on his schedule, so we're not fully off it yet.

Jadarian Price RB · SEA — a three-way rotation nobody wanted: Holani 24 snaps, Emanuel Wilson 24, Price 19, and Wilson led the team in carries. Price led in rushing yards with fifteen. He was a full participant in practice, so the injury excuse is thin. Seattle has a problem.

TreVeyon Henderson RB · NE — exactly the opposite of what you wanted after last week. Rhamondre Stevenson out-snapped him 33 to 23 and took all three goal-line carries, third down and short yardage. The Patriots are going to feed Stevenson no matter what he does.

Brian Thomas Jr. WR · JAC — under 40% of the snaps for the second time in three weeks and one point on the day. Fifteen points all season. We took a lot of BTJ shots and we look stupid for it. Parker Washington is the one to own, and Jakobi Meyers (19 points, a touchdown) is ahead of Thomas now too. He's borderline droppable.

WHO YOU’RE SWEATING THIS WEEK

Another week and another pile of injuries— sorted by how much they change your lineup, not by how bad they looked:

Out, or close to it

De'Von Achane RB · MIA

Achane went down with a knee injury that has now been confirmed as a torn ACL. His season is over. It is the single biggest thing that happened in fantasy this week. Ollie Gordon II is now a starting running back, and he is the add of the week.

Jalen Coker WR · CAR

He couldn't finish practice earlier in the week, carried no injury designation anyway, and then left the game looking dejected — and he has a history here. The news since has been more encouraging than it looked live. Tetairoa McMillan becomes even more valuable with Coker out, and Chuba Hubbard keeps eating either way.

Left the game — waiting on word

Breece Hall RB · NYJ

Tackled out of bounds in the fourth, rolled over in pain, didn't come back. They're calling it a thigh, and he's week to week. Braelon Allen is rostered in 22% of leagues and is worth 25–50% of your budget.

Justin Jefferson WR · MIN

An ankle. He tried to test it, went to the locker room, and couldn't get back on the field — but the word since has been good, and he has a chance to play this week. If he can't go, Jordan Addison just had a big game with Kyler Murray throwing and is the fill-in start.

Mike Evans WR · SF

He came in with a hip issue and didn't practice all week, then took a hit under the shoulder pads and left with what they're calling a rib strain. He was in a lot of pain. If he sits, Christian McCaffrey, George Kittle and Deebo Samuel all jump in the weekly rankings.

Travis Etienne RB · NO

Grabbed his hamstring, left early, never returned. Alvin Kamara soaked up the work behind him and Kendre Miller got the late snaps. Kamara is a near-max bid anywhere he's still floating; Kendre Miller is worth 10–25%.

Bucky Irving RB · TB

Nobody flagged it during the broadcast, but he sat out most of the fourth quarter and was listed as dinged up afterward. No diagnosis yet. If you dropped Kenneth Gainwell over the last two weeks, go check whether he's still sitting there.

Baker Mayfield QB · TB

Bent his thumb backwards — a dislocation. X-rays came back clean with no fracture, and he's getting an MRI Monday. Between him and Irving, the whole Tampa backfield and passing game is a question mark — have a streaming quarterback ready.

Mark Andrews TE · BAL

Left with a hand injury. He's a streaming tight end for most of you anyway. Replace him off waivers and don't spend anything doing it.

Still monitoring from last week

Rico Dowdle RB · PIT

Still out, and the Steelers responded by giving Jaylen Warren 56 of a possible 60 snaps. Warren is a clear weekly starter until Dowdle is back.

Caleb Douglas WR · MIA

Missed this one, and Chris Bell stepped straight into the target share — seven targets, 10 points. Bell is the Dolphins receiver to hold if Douglas misses more time.

Jayden Daniels QB · WAS

First week without him after the elbow dislocation, and the Commanders offense held up better than anyone expected with Marcus Mariota. Terry McLaurin is once again the most valuable receiver in Washington.

Zay Flowers WR · BAL

He played in Brazil on a snap count and still produced in limited work. He should be safe to fire back up next week, and Rashod Bateman goes back to being an afterthought in that offense.

Jayden Reed WR · GB

Still down, and the two receivers we were higher on are the ones eating. Matthew Golden and Christian Watson are both startable while this holds.

WAIVER WIRE

It's all running backs this week.

Every name on this list is here because somebody in front of them got hurt. You only get so many chances to add a starting running back — this is one of them.

Budget Player & why
100%

Priority add

Ollie Gordon II RB · MIA

All of it. Every dollar. He played most of the game after Achane went down and put up 15 points on 17 carries with a touchdown — not efficient, but that's a starting running back's workload, and those don't come up on waivers often.

100%

Alvin Kamara RB · NO

Somehow rostered in only 55% of sleeper leagues. Nine carries with Etienne out of the game, and he's the one who benefits most if the hamstring keeps Etienne down. If he's sitting on your wire, just go get him.

25–50%

Braelon Allen RB · NYJ

Rostered in 22% of leagues. Very similar situation to Ollie Gordon, just with less certainty — Breece Hall is week to week, which is the only reason this isn't 100%.

10–25%

Kendre Miller RB · NO

Four carries, most of them late once Etienne was out. He's the second body in that backfield, which matters if the hamstring lingers.

0–10%

Keaton Mitchell RB · LAC

Zero is a defensible bid. He had 13.5 points on a goal-line touchdown, and nobody who rosters him is going to start him next week. Fine to hold for upside, nothing more.

0–5%

Chris Bell WR · MIA

Seven targets, four catches, 10 points with Caleb Douglas out. If Douglas misses more time, Bell is the leading receiver in that offense.

So, that’s the short version.
